The short answer
Know your own plan well, answer in short true sentences, and bring organized papers. The officer usually has only a few minutes, so be clear about why you are going and why you will return.
What to know
- Be able to explain: the purpose, the dates, where you will stay, who pays, and what you do at home.
- Arrive early, dress neatly, and bring the papers in order.
- Do not memorize a script or bring papers that are not yours.
- If you were refused before, answer that honestly and say what changed.
