Unofficial site. Data from official U.S. government websites.

Visa issuance numbers, appointment wait times and the Visa Bulletin come from the U.S. Department of State (issuance reports, wait times, Visa Bulletin). Green card numbers come from the Department of Homeland Security (Office of Homeland Security Statistics). Issuance counts are not approval rates, and monthly figures are preliminary. This site is not legal or immigration advice and is not affiliated with the U.S. government.

What changed

Which embassies got faster or slower?

Comparing 5 Oct 2026 with 2 Oct 2026. Only changes of 3 days or more are shown.

No embassy moved by 3 days or more since last month.

We update interview appointment wait time information monthly. Average wait times do not guarantee the availability of an appointment.

Official data from: U.S. Department of State, Global Visa Wait Times (updated 5 Oct 2026)

“Next available appointment” is when a new applicant could expect a slot; “Average wait” is how long people waited last month, from paying the fee to the interview. The State Department gives “Average wait” for visitor visas (B1/B2) only where the next appointment is more than three months away. “NA” means no figure is given. “Under 15 days” is what they print as “< 0.5 Month”. Months are counted as 30 days. These are estimates, not promises: embassies release new slots often, so check the embassy's own website. Unofficial site.

The interview wait is only one part of the total time

The numbers on this page are the queue for an interview appointment, as published by the U.S. State Department. They are not the time your whole visa will take. The total has four parts, and only the second is measured here:

  1. Preparing and, for some visas, a petition first. Filling in the form, paying the fee and gathering documents. Students wait for their school's Form I-20. Many work and family visas need an approved petition from USCIS first, which has its own processing time on the USCIS website.
  2. The appointment queue. The wait shown on this site, from asking for an interview to the earliest date offered.
  3. The interview and any extra checks. Many cases are decided the same day. Some are held for “administrative processing”, which can add weeks or longer, and no one can tell you in advance.
  4. Getting your passport back. After approval the passport is printed and returned, which takes days and differs by embassy.

Official waiting times are on the State Department website. See the steps for each visa type.
