Unofficial site. Data from official U.S. government websites.

Visa issuance numbers, appointment wait times and the Visa Bulletin come from the U.S. Department of State (issuance reports, wait times, Visa Bulletin). Green card numbers come from the Department of Homeland Security (Office of Homeland Security Statistics). Issuance counts are not approval rates, and monthly figures are preliminary. This site is not legal or immigration advice and is not affiliated with the U.S. government.

I-94 calculator: days left and overstay check

Type your arrival day, the “admit until” date from your I-94 and the day you leave. We count the days and warn you in plain words. It runs in your browser and nothing is saved.

Leave the last box empty to use today (New York time). Dates stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Enter the “admit until” date from your I-94 to see the result.

Find your I-94 on the official I-94 site. Count shown is a simple day count (arrival day included). Official unlawful-presence rules have exceptions, so this is a guide, not a ruling.

I-94 dates in short

What does the "admit until" date on my I-94 mean?

It is the last day the border officer allowed you to stay on that trip. It can be different from the date your visa stamp ends. The visa stamp only lets you ask to enter; the I-94 date is how long you may stay.

What does "D/S" on an I-94 mean?

D/S means "duration of status". It is common for students (F-1) and exchange visitors (J-1). There is no fixed end date: you may stay while you keep following your program rules. The calculator needs a date, so it cannot count D/S stays.

What happens if I stay past my I-94 date?

Your visa can be cancelled, so you may need to apply again in your home country. If you stay more than 180 days past the date and then leave, a 3-year ban on returning usually applies. One year or more, then leaving, usually means a 10-year ban. There are exceptions, so ask an immigration attorney.

Where do I find my I-94?

On the official I-94 website run by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. You enter your name, birth date and passport details to see your latest record.
