Unofficial site. Data from official U.S. government websites.

Visa issuance numbers, appointment wait times and the Visa Bulletin come from the U.S. Department of State (issuance reports, wait times, Visa Bulletin). Green card numbers come from the Department of Homeland Security (Office of Homeland Security Statistics). Issuance counts are not approval rates, and monthly figures are preliminary. Visa fees in short

How much is a U.S. visa application fee?

For most visitor, student and exchange visas the fee is about $185. Many work visas are about $205 and treaty visas about $315. The State Department sets the amounts and can change them, so read the official fee list before you pay.

Is the visa fee refunded if I am refused?

No. The fee pays for the application and interview, not for an approval. A refusal does not return the money, and a new application needs a new fee.

Who do I pay the visa fee to?

Only the government, through the official instructions on the embassy site. Agents and websites that sell appointments or promise approval are not official.

Why do some fees say "check USCIS"?

Employer fees for work visas have several parts and change often, so a number printed here could be wrong within weeks. The linked USCIS page always has the current amount.
